Frequently Asked Search Ad Questions

Still have questions? Hopefully you’ll find what your looking for below. If not, always feel free to reach out with any questions you may have about anything Google Ads.

How long does it take to see results from Google Search Ads?

Results can be seen almost immediately after your ads start running. However, it may take some time to optimise the ads for the best performance based on results and machine learning.

Can I target my ads to specific locations or times?

Yes, Google Search Ads allows you to target your ads to specific locations and choose the times when your ads are shown.

How do I know which keywords to bid on?

Start by thinking about the words potential customers might use to find your products or services. Google’s Keyword Planner tool can also help identify effective keywords and provide you an estimate of search volume so that you know where to find the most people that are relevant to you.

Is there a minimum budget required for Google Search Ads?

No, there’s technically no minimum budget. You can start with any amount that you’re comfortable with and adjust as you go. For any business with a good amount of budget to spend, we’d suggest using at least $1,000 per month if possible, as this speeds up Google’s machine learning and provides better results, faster.

Can I run multiple ad campaigns at the same time?

Yes, you can run multiple campaigns simultaneously. This is useful for targeting different products, services, or audiences. At max Convert we tend to use multiple campaigns to capture current business goals, whilst also chasing business growth opportunities that you might not have thought about.

How do I measure the success of my ads?

Google Ads provides metrics like click-through rate (CTR), conversion rate, and return on ad spend (ROAS) to help you measure success, although we take this to a much more granular level at Max Convert by tracking and measuring the impact on your website, sales and profit.

Can I make changes to my ad campaign after it's started?

Yes, you can make changes to your campaign at any time, including adjusting your budget, changing keywords, or modifying ad copy. In saying this, we do like to keep things relatively untouched for the first few weeks as this speeds up learning and stops any sort of interruption whilst initial results are generated.

What happens if my ads aren't performing well?

If your ads aren’t performing as expected, consider adjusting your keywords in your ad groups, ad copy, or targeting settings. It’s also helpful to review the ‘Quality Score’ provided by Google to make sure you are ranking high on the first page. Alternatively if you are still stuck, get in touch with us as your trusted digital marketing experts, and we can provide advice or take over entirely if you’d prefer.
